Upwork's Fee Structure (2026)
Upwork charges a sliding fee based on lifetime earnings with each client:
- $0–$500 (new client): 20% fee. You keep $40 of a $50 invoice.
- $500–$10,000: 10% fee.
- Above $10,000: 5% fee.
