Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 26, 2026

Effective Date: June 26, 2026  |  Governing Law: Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India)

πŸ”’ Free tool calculations run entirely in your browser. Your data never leaves your device for free tools. AI Tools (Offer Analyzer, Equity Explorer, and Profile Auditor) transmit data to our backend for processing β€” see Section 3 for full disclosure.

1. Overview

TakeHomeCalc.in ("we", "our", "the Site") is a website providing financial calculators, AI-powered compensation tools, career guides, and informational content for tech professionals. The Site is operated by an independent individual (the "Operator") domiciled in India and is subject to Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, by whom, and how it is handled when you visit and use TakeHomeCalc.in. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling any personal data we encounter with transparency and care.

The short version: The Site has two tiers with different data handling: (1) Free Calculators β€” all calculations run in your browser; no data is collected or transmitted by us. (2) AI Tools β€” compensation data you submit is sent to our backend, processed by Google's large language model (LLM) API, temporarily stored in our database, and deleted within 24 hours. These tools are provided free of charge, and no payment information is collected. The only other personal data we ever process is an email you voluntarily send us.

2. Free Tool Calculators β€” Zero Collection

All free calculators on TakeHomeCalc.in — including salary tax, CTC breakdown, HRA, 44ADA, SIP, ESOP/RSU tax, GST invoice, USD→INR remittance, and all other free tools — run entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. For these tools:

There is no account, no login, and no profile for free tools. We have no technical ability to associate any free calculator output with any individual user.

Note: The AI Tools (Offer Analyzer, Equity Explorer, and Profile Auditor) operate differently β€” see Section 3 below.

3. AI Tools β€” Data Transmission Notice

The three AI Tools β€” Offer Analyzer, Equity Explorer, and Profile Auditor β€” operate differently from the free calculators. These three tools generate personalised compensation analysis using Google's large language model (LLM) API. The following critical limitations apply:

3a. What Data Is Transmitted

When you submit an AI Tool form, the data you enter (compensation figures, job offer details, equity grant information, and any other fields in the form) is transmitted over HTTPS to our backend server hosted on Vercel. This data is then sent to Google's large language model (LLM) API for processing. Google processes this data in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

We recommend: Do not include your full name, national ID, bank account details, or other directly identifying personal information in AI Tool forms. The tools do not require these fields to generate useful analysis.

4. Offer Letter Checker β€” Special Notice (Free Tool)

5. GST Invoice Generator β€” Special Notice (Free Tool)

The GST Invoice Generator allows you to enter commercially sensitive information including your GSTIN, your client's GSTIN, business addresses, invoice amounts, and line item descriptions to generate a draft PDF invoice.

6. Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page traffic patterns (e.g., which pages are visited, from which countries). Cloudflare Web Analytics is specifically designed to be privacy-preserving:

See: Cloudflare Privacy Policy

7. Third-Party CDN Scripts (Free Tools)

Some pages load open-source JavaScript libraries from third-party content delivery networks (CDNs). When your browser fetches these scripts, the CDN server records a standard HTTP access log entry which typically includes your IP address and browser type. This is standard CDN operation beyond our control.

8. Advertising & Cookies

TakeHomeCalc.in has registered a Google AdSense publisher account (ca-pub-2575751750951032) which is referenced in a verification meta tag on each page. However, as of the date of this policy, no Google AdSense advertisement units are actively displayed on this site. No advertising cookies are set. No advertising-related personal data is collected.

The publisher account exists so that we can activate AdSense in the future if we choose to monetise the site. If and when we activate advertising:

Until advertising is activated, this site operates on a zero advertising, zero advertising cookie basis.

9. Email Communications

Our contact page provides a direct email address: contact@takehomecalc.in. When you send us an email:

Some pages contain links to external websites including government portals (incometax.gov.in, gst.gov.in), official regulatory resources, and reference tools. Free tool pages and blog articles do not contain affiliate links. Pro Tool result pages may include clearly labelled affiliate links to relevant financial or professional services β€” these will be marked as "affiliate" or "sponsored" where applicable. We have no control over the privacy practices of third-party websites and are not responsible for their content or data collection.

11. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act 2023

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

Right to Access

You may request a summary of what personal data we hold about you and how it has been processed.

Right to Correction

You may request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold about you.

Right to Erasure

You may request deletion of your personal data. We will comply within 30 days where technically feasible.

Right to Grievance Redressal

You have the right to have any grievance related to your data addressed by our Grievance Officer within the timelines specified below.

Right to Nominate

You may nominate another individual to exercise your data rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Where we process your data based on consent (e.g., responding to an email inquiry), you may withdraw that consent at any time by notifying us. Withdrawal does not affect prior processing.

Practical note: For free tool users who have never emailed us, we hold no personal data about you whatsoever. For AI tool users: the AI result associated with your session UUID is stored for up to 24 hours, then auto-deleted. You may request immediate deletion by emailing us your session UUID (visible in your browser's localStorage under the key thc_pending_[toolname]).

To exercise any of these rights, contact: contact@takehomecalc.in

12. Cookies & Local Storage β€” Your Choices

Cookies: TakeHomeCalc.in does not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services may set cookies as follows:

localStorage (AI Tools only): When you use an AI Tool, we write a small session token (thc_pending_[toolname]) to your browser's localStorage. This token contains only a randomly generated UUID, the timestamp of your submission, and a status flag. It contains no financial data. Its purpose is to allow you to retrieve your AI result on subsequent visits. It is cleared when you retrieve your result or after 24 hours. You can delete it manually at any time via your browser's developer tools (Application β†’ Local Storage).

Managing cookies and localStorage: You can block cookies via browser settings. You can clear localStorage via your browser's developer tools at any time. Clearing localStorage on an AI Tool page before retrieving your result will prevent the page from automatically loading your past session, but you can always access it again if you have the UUID in your URL.

13. Data Fiduciary & Grievance Officer

TakeHomeCalc.in is a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, insofar as it processes email communications from users. The Operator of TakeHomeCalc.in is the Data Fiduciary for this purpose.

For any privacy-related grievances, complaints, data access requests, correction requests, or erasure requests, please contact our Grievance Officer:

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India once the Board is formally constituted under the DPDP Act.

14. Children's Privacy

TakeHomeCalc.in is designed for use by working Indian professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data to us (e.g., via email), please contact us at contact@takehomecalc.in and we will promptly delete such data.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including when:

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
