1. Overview
TakeHomeCalc.in ("we", "our", "the Site") is a website providing financial calculators, AI-powered compensation tools, career guides, and informational content for tech professionals. The Site is operated by an independent individual (the "Operator") domiciled in India and is subject to Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, by whom, and how it is handled when you visit and use TakeHomeCalc.in. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling any personal data we encounter with transparency and care.
2. Free Tool Calculators β Zero Collection
All free calculators on TakeHomeCalc.in β including salary tax, CTC breakdown, HRA, 44ADA, SIP, ESOP/RSU tax, GST invoice, USDβINR remittance, and all other free tools β run entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. For these tools:
- No salary figures, CTC numbers, tax amounts, or any other financial data you enter is ever sent to our servers.
- No financial data is stored in any database, cloud storage, or logging system we operate.
- No financial data is shared with any third party for any purpose.
- No financial data is persisted in your browser β free calculator pages write no localStorage, sessionStorage, or cookies.
- When you close or refresh the page, all input values are cleared from memory entirely.
There is no account, no login, and no profile for free tools. We have no technical ability to associate any free calculator output with any individual user.
3. AI Tools β Data Transmission Notice
The three AI Tools β Offer Analyzer, Equity Explorer, and Profile Auditor β operate differently from the free calculators. These three tools generate personalised compensation analysis using Google's large language model (LLM) API. The following critical limitations apply:
3a. What Data Is Transmitted
When you submit an AI Tool form, the data you enter (compensation figures, job offer details, equity grant information, and any other fields in the form) is transmitted over HTTPS to our backend server hosted on Vercel. This data is then sent to Google's large language model (LLM) API for processing. Google processes this data in accordance with their Privacy Policy.
We recommend: Do not include your full name, national ID, bank account details, or other directly identifying personal information in AI Tool forms. The tools do not require these fields to generate useful analysis.
3b. How Long Data Is Stored
- Your submitted data (form inputs) is used to generate the AI analysis and is not persistently stored β it is processed in-memory and discarded after the response is generated.
- The AI-generated result is stored in our database (Supabase) linked to a randomly generated session UUID for a maximum of 24 hours, after which it is automatically deleted by a scheduled database job. This temporary storage is done solely for your benefit (to allow you to retrieve your analysis, bookmark or share the link, and download your report as a PDF) and is not analyzed, sold, or used by us for any other purpose.
- The session UUID is stored in your browser's
localStorageso you can retrieve your result later. It contains no financial data β only a session identifier. It is cleared once your result is retrieved or after 24 hours.
3c. Who Processes Your Data
| Processor | Role | Data Received | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google (LLM API) | AI analysis engine | Your form inputs (compensation data, job details, equity figures) | Google Privacy Policy |
| Supabase | Result storage (24h) | Session UUID, tool type, AI result text, execution status, timestamp | Supabase Privacy Policy |
| Vercel | Backend hosting | API requests (data in transit only; not logged beyond standard access logs) | Vercel Privacy Policy |
4. Offer Letter Checker β Special Notice (Free Tool)
The Offer Letter Red Flag Checker (free tool) allows you to paste the text of an employment offer letter. This text may contain personally sensitive information such as your name, your prospective employer's name, compensation details, and employment terms.
Privacy assurances:
- All analysis is performed entirely in your browser using local JavaScript pattern matching. No text is transmitted to our servers.
- The text exists only in your browser's memory and is cleared when you navigate away or click "Clear".
- We recommend removing your personal name and address from the pasted text before analysis.
5. GST Invoice Generator β Special Notice (Free Tool)
The GST Invoice Generator allows you to enter commercially sensitive information including your GSTIN, your client's GSTIN, business addresses, invoice amounts, and line item descriptions to generate a draft PDF invoice.
Privacy assurances:
- All invoice data is processed entirely in your browser. No data is sent to our servers at any point.
- The PDF is generated locally using the jsPDF open-source library and downloaded directly to your device.
- We do not store, log, or retain any invoice data, GSTIN numbers, business names, or financial amounts you enter.
- The GSTIN format validation is a local regex check only β it does not query gst.gov.in.
6. Analytics
This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate page traffic patterns (e.g., which pages are visited, from which countries). Cloudflare Web Analytics is specifically designed to be privacy-preserving:
- No cookies are set by Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- No personal data is collected β IP addresses are not stored, and no cross-site tracking is performed.
- All data is aggregated and anonymous. Individual user journeys are not tracked.
- Your calculator inputs are entirely excluded from analytics β no financial data ever reaches Cloudflare's analytics systems.
See: Cloudflare Privacy Policy
7. Third-Party CDN Scripts (Free Tools)
Some pages load open-source JavaScript libraries from third-party content delivery networks (CDNs). When your browser fetches these scripts, the CDN server records a standard HTTP access log entry which typically includes your IP address and browser type. This is standard CDN operation beyond our control.
| Provider & CDN | Purpose | Pages Used On | Privacy Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| jsDelivr CDN cdn.jsdelivr.net |
Serves Chart.js for visualisation charts | Multiple calculator pages | jsDelivr Privacy Policy |
| Cloudflare CDN cdnjs.cloudflare.com |

| Cloudflare Web Analytics static.cloudflareinsights.com |
Cookieless analytics beacon | All pages | Cloudflare Privacy Policy |
| Google Fonts fonts.googleapis.com |

None of these CDN scripts have access to your calculator inputs, offer letter text, or invoice data. They serve static files only.
8. Advertising & Cookies
TakeHomeCalc.in has registered a Google AdSense publisher account (ca-pub-2575751750951032) which is referenced in a verification meta tag on each page. However, as of the date of this policy, no Google AdSense advertisement units are actively displayed on this site. No advertising cookies are set. No advertising-related personal data is collected.
The publisher account exists so that we can activate AdSense in the future if we choose to monetise the site. If and when we activate advertising:
- This Privacy Policy will be updated before any advertisements go live to fully disclose the cookies set, data collected, and how to opt out.
- Google AdSense sets advertising cookies which track ad interactions. Users will be informed and, where required by law, given the ability to consent or opt out before ads are activated.
- See Google's Privacy Policy and Google Ad Settings for details on how Google uses advertising data.
Until advertising is activated, this site operates on a zero advertising, zero advertising cookie basis.

10. External Links
Some pages contain links to external websites including government portals (incometax.gov.in, gst.gov.in), official regulatory resources, and reference tools. Free tool pages and blog articles do not contain affiliate links. Pro Tool result pages may include clearly labelled affiliate links to relevant financial or professional services β these will be marked as "affiliate" or "sponsored" where applicable. We have no control over the privacy practices of third-party websites and are not responsible for their content or data collection.
11. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act 2023
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

thc_pending_[toolname]).
To exercise any of these rights, contact: contact@takehomecalc.in
12. Cookies & Local Storage β Your Choices
Cookies: TakeHomeCalc.in does not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services may set cookies as follows:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: No cookies set.
- Google Fonts: May set a technical cookie for font loading performance. No advertising data.
- Google AdSense: Not currently active. Policy will be updated before activation.
localStorage (AI Tools only): When you use an AI Tool, we write a small session token (thc_pending_[toolname]) to your browser's localStorage. This token contains only a randomly generated UUID, the timestamp of your submission, and a status flag. It contains no financial data. Its purpose is to allow you to retrieve your AI result on subsequent visits. It is cleared when you retrieve your result or after 24 hours. You can delete it manually at any time via your browser's developer tools (Application β Local Storage).
Managing cookies and localStorage: You can block cookies via browser settings. You can clear localStorage via your browser's developer tools at any time. Clearing localStorage on an AI Tool page before retrieving your result will prevent the page from automatically loading your past session, but you can always access it again if you have the UUID in your URL.
13. Data Fiduciary & Grievance Officer
TakeHomeCalc.in is a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, insofar as it processes email communications from users. The Operator of TakeHomeCalc.in is the Data Fiduciary for this purpose.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India once the Board is formally constituted under the DPDP Act.
14. Children's Privacy
TakeHomeCalc.in is designed for use by working Indian professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided personal data to us (e.g., via email), please contact us at contact@takehomecalc.in and we will promptly delete such data.
