1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using TakeHomeCalc.in (the "Site"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a binding legal agreement between you and the Operator of TakeHomeCalc.in.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must immediately stop using the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any modification to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Site. By using the Site, you represent that you are 18 or older. If you are under 18, you may not use this Site.
2. Description of Service
TakeHomeCalc.in is a compensation intelligence platform offering two tiers of tools:
Tier 1 — Free Calculators
A suite of free, browser-based financial and career calculators including income tax, salary take-home, CTC breakdown, HRA exemption, Section 44ADA, GST invoice generation, ESOP/RSU tax, SIP/SWP projections, NPS/PPF/ELSS comparisons, gratuity, home loan, EMI analysis, USD-to-INR remittance, LLM cost, and informational career tools. All free calculator computations run locally in your browser — no data is transmitted or stored by us. These tools are provided free of charge and supported by the Operator.
Tier 2 — AI Tools (Free AI-Powered Analyses)
Three tools that use a FastAPI backend and Google's large language model (LLM) API to generate personalised compensation intelligence reports:
- Offer Analyzer — AI-scored analysis of a job offer including benchmarking, red flags, equity valuation, and counter-offer recommendation
- Equity Explorer — ESOP/RSU modelling across dilution and exit scenarios with vesting timeline and tax analysis
- Profile Auditor — AI profile review, reject risk score, and resume skill gap roadmap
These AI Tools are provided 100% free of charge. No user account is required on TakeHomeCalc.in — sessions are identified by a temporary UUID. Your submitted data is sent to our backend, processed by Google's LLM API, and the result is stored in Supabase for up to 24 hours before automatic deletion. This temporary storage is done solely for your benefit (to allow you to retrieve your results, share links, and download PDFs on subsequent visits) and is not analyzed, sold, or used for any other purpose. See our Privacy Policy §3 for data handling details.
3. No Professional Advice
The content on TakeHomeCalc.in — including all calculators, tool outputs, articles, guides, FAQs, and other information — is provided for educational and illustrative purposes only. It does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as:
- Financial advice of any kind;
- Tax advice, tax planning services, or a substitute for professional tax consultation;
- Legal advice or legal opinion on any matter, including employment law, contract law, or tax law;
- Investment advice or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, mutual fund, or financial instrument;
- Accounting or auditing services of any kind;
- Human resources or employment consulting of any kind.
Regulatory status: TakeHomeCalc.in is not registered with or regulated by:
- The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI);
- The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI);
- The Bar Council of India;
- The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI);
- The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA); or
- Any other professional, financial, or legal regulatory body in India or elsewhere.
Use of this Site does not create a client-professional, fiduciary, or advisory relationship of any kind between you and the Operator. Always consult a qualified Chartered Accountant, SEBI-registered investment adviser, employment lawyer, or other licensed professional before making financial, tax, legal, or career decisions of consequence.
4. User Representations & Responsibilities
By using this Site, you represent, warrant, and agree that:
- You are at least 18 years of age;
- You are accessing and using the Site for personal, non-commercial, educational, or informational purposes only;
- You understand that all calculator outputs are estimates only and acknowledge their educational nature before relying on them in any way;
- You will not use calculator outputs as the basis for statutory filings (including income tax returns, GST filings, or regulatory applications) without independent verification by a qualified professional;
- You will not use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers, or scripts) to access, extract, or harvest data from this Site;
- You will not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the proprietary logic of our calculators for commercial competitive purposes;
- You will not use the Site in any manner that violates applicable law, including but not limited to the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the DPDP Act, 2023.
5. Accuracy & Limitations
We make every effort to ensure our calculators reflect current Indian tax slabs, rates, rules, and regulatory requirements. However, you acknowledge that:
- Tax laws change. Union Budget announcements, CBDT notifications, GST Council decisions, and legislative amendments may affect calculation accuracy. We aim to update calculators after each Union Budget but cannot guarantee real-time accuracy.
- Individual circumstances vary. Our tools use standard assumptions. They may not account for your specific situation — including special tax statuses, treaty benefits, carry-forward losses, agricultural income, or state-specific rules.
- Hardcoded data ages. Tools relying on hardcoded data (e.g., salary benchmarks, LLM pricing, remittance fee rates) reflect data as of the stated date and may not reflect current market conditions.
- Projections are not predictions. Investment projections (SIP, SWP, NPS, PPF, ELSS, equity exit scenarios) assume constant rates of return. Actual returns will differ. Past performance of any investment does not guarantee future returns.
6. GST Invoice Generator — Special Terms
The GST Invoice Generator produces draft invoices only. By using this tool, you acknowledge and agree that:
- You bear full and sole responsibility for verifying the validity and active status of all GSTINs at gst.gov.in before issuing any invoice. The tool performs format validation only — it cannot confirm whether a GSTIN is currently active, suspended, or cancelled.
- You bear full responsibility for selecting the correct HSN/SAC codes for your goods and services. Incorrect HSN/SAC codes can result in penalties, input tax credit (ITC) denial for your clients, and GSTR audit issues.
- You bear full responsibility for applying the correct GST rates applicable to your specific goods or services as per the current GST rate schedule.
- Generated invoices must be reviewed and verified by you before use. Errors in GST invoices — including incorrect GSTIN, wrong tax rates, or missing mandatory fields — can result in GST penalties, ITC denial for buyers, and regulatory notices.
- The Operator of TakeHomeCalc.in shall not be liable for any GST penalty, ITC denial, tax demand, or regulatory consequence arising from the use or misuse of invoices generated by this tool.
- This tool is not a substitute for GST-compliant billing software registered with the GST e-invoicing portal for taxpayers whose aggregate turnover mandates e-invoicing.
7. Salary Benchmark Data — Special Terms
The salary benchmark data displayed by the "Am I Underpaid?" tool is:
- Not sourced from any licensed salary survey, proprietary compensation database, official government data, or any regulated financial data provider;
- Not endorsed, verified, or published by SEBI, NASSCOM, Naukri, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Payscale, or any other authoritative compensation research organisation;
- Based entirely on the Operator's general observations of Indian job market trends as of 2025–26, and represents approximate illustrative ranges only;
- Subject to wide individual variation — actual compensation depends on specific skills, negotiation history, employer, team, tenure, and many other factors not captured by this tool.
The percentile labels (P25, P50, P75, P90) used in this tool are illustrative and do not represent statistically rigorous percentile calculations derived from a validated sample. You must not use this tool's output as the sole basis for salary negotiations, compensation benchmarking reports, or any formal compensation-related decision.
8. Offer Letter Checker — Special Terms
The Offer Letter Red Flag Checker performs automated pattern matching against a fixed set of keyword and regex patterns to identify potentially problematic clauses in offer letter text. By using this tool, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Pattern matching is not legal analysis. The tool's output is not equivalent to, and must not be treated as, legal advice or a legal opinion on the enforceability of any contract clause.
- A "no flags detected" result does NOT mean your offer letter is legally safe. Clauses can be problematic in ways not detectable by pattern matching, including unusual wording, omissions, ambiguous definitions, or jurisdiction-specific legal nuances.
- A "flag detected" result does NOT necessarily mean a clause is illegal or unenforceable. Many flagged clauses are common, negotiable, or may be standard practice in your industry.
- The tool does not review the entire employment relationship, applicable labour laws (including state-specific shop and establishment acts), or the interplay between clauses.
- You must consult a qualified employment lawyer before signing any employment contract, particularly where substantial financial commitments (bonds, clawbacks, equity) or restrictive covenants are involved.
- The Operator shall not be liable for any employment decision made based on this tool's output.
9. Equity & Career Projection Tools — Special Terms
These tools generate multi-year financial projections (10-year wealth comparisons, equity exit valuations, break-even years, and ROI estimates). These projections are inherently speculative and subject to the following critical limitations:
- Future salaries cannot be predicted. Growth rates are user-entered assumptions. Actual salary growth depends on performance, market conditions, employer policies, and economic cycles.
- Startup exits are not guaranteed. The majority of startups do not achieve a liquidity event. The Startup Equity Calculator presents scenarios (3×, 5×, 10× exits) for illustrative purposes only. Most equity grants in startups yield zero or sub-investment returns.
- Tax rates change. Capital gains tax rates, LTCG/STCG treatment, and surcharge rates are based on Budget 2024 / 2026 rules and may change in future budgets.
- These tools do not account for inflation, risk-adjusted returns, or portfolio diversification considerations that would be part of professional financial planning.
- Outputs must not be used as the basis for investment decisions, business valuations, or salary negotiation positions without independent professional verification.
10. Pro Tools (AI-Powered) — Special Terms
By using an AI Tool, you acknowledge and agree that:
- AI outputs are not professional advice. Results are generated by Google's large language model (LLM) API and represent AI-assisted analysis, not the opinion of a qualified CA, employment lawyer, financial adviser, or investment professional.
- Results may contain errors. AI models can produce plausible-sounding but incorrect, outdated, or incomplete analysis. Always cross-reference AI Tool outputs with independent research and professional advice before acting on them.
- Results expire in 24 hours. Your AI result is stored in our database for 24 hours from the time of generation and then permanently deleted.
- Data transmission consent. By submitting an AI Tool form, you consent to the data you enter being transmitted to our backend and processed by Google's LLM API as described in our Privacy Policy §3.
- No guarantee of uptime. AI Tool availability depends on third-party services (Vercel, Google, Supabase). We are not liable for service interruptions beyond our reasonable control.
11. Free Access & No Payments
All calculators and AI Tools on TakeHomeCalc.in are provided 100% free of charge. No payment details, credit card numbers, or transaction logs are collected, processed, or stored on this website. Any past references to Lemon Squeezy payments or paid refunds are deprecated and no longer active.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- No warranties. The Site and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
- No liability for outputs. TakeHomeCalc.in, its Operator, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or reliance on any calculator output, AI analysis, article, guide, or other content on this Site. This includes but is not limited to:
- Tax penalties, interest, or demands arising from reliance on tax calculator outputs;
- Investment losses arising from reliance on investment projection outputs;
- GST penalties, ITC denial, or regulatory consequences arising from use of the GST Invoice Generator;
- Employment or career decisions made in reliance on any tool output, including AI-generated Pro Tool analyses;
- Any financial loss resulting from incorrect, outdated, or AI-hallucinated data in our tools.
- No liability for third-party content. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of any third-party website linked from this Site.
- No liability for third-party service interruptions. We are not liable for AI Tool unavailability caused by Google, Supabase, or Vercel outages.
- Force majeure. We shall not be liable for failure to provide access to the Site due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If, notwithstanding the above, any liability is found against the Operator, the aggregate liability shall not exceed INR 500 (reflecting that all tools are provided at no charge to users).
13. Permitted & Prohibited Uses
- Personal, educational, or informational use of all calculators and tools
- Sharing links to any page on this Site on social media, blogs, or messaging apps

14. Intellectual Property
All original content on TakeHomeCalc.in — including calculator logic, design, written guides, articles, and code — is the intellectual property of the Operator and is protected by applicable copyright law.
Open-source components: Several tools use open-source JavaScript libraries:
- Chart.js — MIT License. Used for data visualisation.
- jsPDF — MIT License. Used for PDF generation in the GST Invoice Generator.
These libraries are used in compliance with their respective open-source licences and are not proprietary to TakeHomeCalc.in.
What you may not do: You may not reproduce, copy, republish, sell, or commercially exploit the original content of TakeHomeCalc.in without prior written permission from the Operator. This includes but is not limited to cloning our calculator logic for a competing product, republishing our articles without attribution, or reselling our tools.
15. External Links & Third-Party Services
This Site uses and links to the following third-party services:
- Free tool infrastructure: Cloudflare (analytics + CDN), jsDelivr (Chart.js), Google Fonts — no personal data involved for free tools.
- AI Tool infrastructure: Vercel (backend hosting), Google (LLM API), Supabase (result storage) — see Privacy Policy §3 for data handling disclosure.
- Government portals and external references: incometax.gov.in, gst.gov.in, and other informational links — provided for convenience, not endorsed.
We do not control or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party website or service.
16. Termination of Access
We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to TakeHomeCalc.in — or any portion of it — at any time, without notice, for any reason including but not limited to:
- Suspected violation of these Terms;
- Automated scraping or abusive use of our tools;
- Technical maintenance or infrastructure changes;
- Our decision to discontinue the Site or any tool.
Since no user accounts are created, "termination of access" means blocking access by IP address or other technical means. We are not obligated to provide advance notice of such actions.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of this Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.
This choice of jurisdiction does not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer under applicable Indian consumer protection laws.
18. Dispute Resolution
In the event of any dispute, we encourage you to first attempt informal resolution by contacting us at contact@takehomecalc.in. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes informally within 30 days of receiving written notice of the dispute. If informal resolution is not achieved within 30 days, either party may pursue the matter through the courts specified in Section 17 above.
19. Severability & Waiver
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. A waiver of any right on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of that right on any future occasion.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Use, together with our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Operator with respect to your use of TakeHomeCalc.in and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written, relating to this subject matter.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes (such as changes to prohibited uses, limitation of liability, or governing law) will be highlighted with a site notice. Continued use of the Site after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
